-Homecoming Queen Betty Babler and her first grade attendants, Jeffrey Dewar and Stacy Smalley, posed for photographers after the coronation ceremonies.

-Young eighth grader Doug Schroeder came home wearing his football practice uniform. Seems he had put his clothes in the locker, locked it with an old padlock and forgot the key was still in his pants pocket.

-Richland Hartmann and incumbent Erwin Lehmkuhl will be opponents for the Council position in The Village council election. Lehmkuhl has been a member of the council since the early 1950’s.

-The new licorice plant is now under construction. Due to a 170% growth in the last year they will start Phase l of their plans to expand to a new plant.

-Tom Meinhover took on the role of “Johnny Appleseed”: last week speaking to second graders about planting apple trees.

-The ‘Jackets made a fairly quick night of it last Thursday sending Glyndon-Felton out of town with a winless match, 15-5, 15-1 and 15-4, with great moves by Sarah Happel and Beth Winjum.
